REMEMBRANCE DAY IN SADDLEWORTH |
||
|
Dear residents.
Today, on Remembrance Sunday, your local Saddleworth & Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team were proud and privileged to play a part in the morning's parades, services and acts of remembrance across our communities.
We joined residents, veterans, serving personnel, local organisations and faith groups to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of those who gave so much for our freedoms.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the team at the following locations:
Holy Trinity Church, Dobcross
Pots and Pans War Memorial
Lees Cemetery War Memorial
Austerlands Cenotaph
We would like to thank all organisers, volunteers, veterans, cadets, clergy and community groups who helped make today's commemorations so meaningful and respectful. It was an honour to stand alongside our communities in remembrance.
A special thank you to the Dobcross Youth Band from myself and PCSO Mike Lowther. The band performed impeccably throughout the service and parade, demonstrating great professionalism and respect. Their music was both emotional and deeply moving, helping to create a fitting atmosphere of remembrance and reflection for all those in attendance. The dedication and talent shown by these young musicians were a credit to themselves, their families and the wider community.
As we pause to reflect, we remember all those who have served and those who continue to serve today.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
Best regards.
